Leadership

Built by People Who've Done the Work

The leaders behind Verti CRE didn’t come from a corporate brokerage or a venture-backed tech company. Years of prospecting, sourcing, and closing multifamily transactions in the Midwest markets they still operate in today — that’s the foundation this firm was built on.  In year one, the firm closed $100M in transaction volume across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. That result was built on a foundation of experienced advisors, a people-first culture, and Verti Intelligence™ — a proprietary platform developed in-house that gives every advisor on this team a structural advantage in the market.  What you’ll find on this page isn’t a list of titles. It’s the team that founded this firm, built the infrastructure behind it, and shows up every day to close deals.

CEO, Founder, & Managing Broker

Chris Homan built his career around a belief that most executives talk about and few actually operate by: that the best results come from people who are genuinely invested in each other’s success.

COO & Founder

Alexa Lowe is the reason Verti’s infrastructure works. As a founding partner at Huber Equity Group before co-founding Verti, she built teams and operating systems from scratch across finance, asset management, and acquisitions — and developed a ground-level fluency in what it actually takes to scale a high-performing real estate organization.

CRO & Senior Managing Director

Matthew Drane has spent 12 years closing multifamily transactions and building the people behind them. His track record spans $500M+ in closed transactions across the U.S., Middle East, and Europe — and an equally substantial record developing the sales professionals who made those deals happen.

Associate Director, Marketing & Operations

Jessica brings strategic marketing expertise & operational precision to Verti Commercial Real Estate.

Verti Founder & CEO Huber Equity Group

Joe Huber is the Founder and CEO of Huber Equity Group™ — the private equity platform behind $210M+ in Midwest and Sunbelt multifamily transactions and the origin of Verti’s founding methodology. At Verti CRE, he serves as Executive Chairman.

Chris Homan

CEO, Founder, & Managing Broker

Chris Homan built his career around a belief that most executives talk about and few actually operate by: that the best results come from people who are genuinely invested in each other’s success. Over a decade leading sales teams across biopharma, medical device, and tech — from a Fortune 15 company into progressively leaner, higher-stakes environments — he didn’t just manage to that standard. He built cultures around it. That conviction is what brought him to commercial real estate, and what made the gap so obvious. Three years leading multifamily acquisitions across the Midwest and Sunbelt made one thing clear: the industry was built on effort, but nobody had built the infrastructure to make that effort smarter. Chris built the vision for Verti CRE around solving exactly that. Verti Intelligence™ is the result — a proprietary platform that helped the firm close $100M in its first year. But the recognition Chris points to most is simpler: Verti CRE was named a Best Places to Work company in 2025. For him, that’s the one that counts.

Alexa Lowe

COO & Founder

Alexa Lowe is the reason Verti’s infrastructure works. As a founding partner at Huber Equity Group before co-founding Verti, she built teams and operating systems from scratch across finance, asset management, and acquisitions — and developed a ground-level fluency in what it actually takes to scale a high-performing real estate organization. That experience is what’s behind $100M in closed transactions in Verti’s first year. She brought that same depth to Verti from day one, designing the infrastructure powering the Direct-to-Seller System™ and overseeing the development of Verti Intelligence™, the proprietary operating platform that runs on every deal the firm closes. In 2025, Alexa was recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year® Award Winner — one of the most prestigious recognitions in business, earned for the systems and results she’s built here.

Matthew E. Drane

He has trained and mentored hundreds of advisors across major national brokerages, including two Fortune 500 organizations, and has spent his career at the intersection of elite performance and people development. That combination is exactly what Verti needed in a CRO. As the leader of Verti’s investment sales business, Matt brings the same standard he’s held throughout his career — high expectations, hands-on mentorship, and a genuine investment in the growth of every advisor on the platform. He doesn’t just oversee deal execution. He develops the people doing it. When you’ve closed $500M+ across three continents and built teams that perform at that level, you develop a clear sense of what separates firms that produce results from firms that just talk about them. Matt came to Verti because this is the latter.

Joe Huber

Verti Founder & CEO Huber Equity Group

Joe Huber is the Founder and CEO of Huber Equity Group™ — the private equity platform behind $210M+ in Midwest and Sunbelt multifamily transactions and the origin of Verti’s founding methodology. At Verti CRE, he serves as Executive Chairman. Joe pushes his team to balance traditional best practices with innovative solutions that add real value to every deal — for residents, for investors, and for the long-term health of the multifamily market. He’s as focused on accessible communities as he is on stabilized assets. His commitment extends beyond the balance sheet. Joe mentors aspiring real estate professionals, speaks at real estate and nonprofit events, and serves on the boards of several local nonprofits. Verti CRE wasn’t a bet he placed from the outside. It was a vision he built alongside his co-founders from the ground up.
